Thursday, Aug 29:
Sister Cities Smokeout, All day Thursday and Friday @ Bluestem Amphitheatre in Moorhead. Baked into the heart of Moorhead and its sister city, Fargo, are the common bonds of beer-safe cooking (safely grilling food with a beer in one hand) and giving your ears equal love with great tunes. Even better is having someone else wrestle up some good meat, pour a tall one and crank up the summer’s hottest playlist. You’re invited to Sister Cities Smokeout – two full days of – Hot BBQ, Live Tunes and Cold Beer.

Moorhead Downtown Master Plan: Pop-Up Event, 11:30 am @ Dairy Queen in Moorhead. Come for an opportunity to provide input on the future of downtown Moorhead.

Wild Tails Day # 2, 5:00 pm @ Wild Terra Cider at 6 12th St. N. in Fargo. There will be an enclosed urban dog park with a mini cider bar for dogs and their owners to be off leash. Event also includes a taco bar for humans, live music by local band, and vendors with booths.

Annual Summer Picnic, 5:00 pm @ Moorhead Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center at 2810 2nd Ave N. We will be hosting our Annual end of the Summer Picnic. Join us for food, yard games, a bouncy house, live music and lots of fun and prizes.. All are Welcomed and bring the kids.. We will be Serving: BBQ chicken, baked beans, corn, watermelon, ice cream cones, iced tea and lemonade. Hope to see you all there. Free.

Underground Vintage Night, 6:00 pm @ This Skateshop at 625 1st Ave. N. in Fargo. Mark your calendars for Fargo’s first ever Underground Vintage night located in the basement of This Skateshop. Activities include shopping vintage; enjoying a drink, or two, or three… (free of course); playing vintage board games; or watching a blast from the past with some classic VHS films projected onto a wall.

2019 Northern Narratives Book Launch and Reception, 7:00 pm @ Fargo Public Library Main. Join us at the Fargo Public Library to celebrate the library’s “Northern Narratives” 2019 book launch and reception. “Northern Narratives” is the library’s third publication of work produced by local and regional authors. This writing project is generously supported by the Friends of the Fargo Public Library. Several of the authors will be present and will read from their submitted pieces. Light refreshments will be served. Free.

North Side Conversation on School Safety, 7:00 pm @ Broadway Station Senior Center at 1461 Broadway. The public is invited to a series of North Side Conversations, being organized by District 44 legislators Rep. Karla Rose Hanson, Rep. Joshua Boschee and Sen. Merrill Piepkorn. The first event on Aug. 29 will be about School Safety, featuring a panel discussion on teacher and student safety in the classroom and building safety from outside threats. Free.

Out of the Darkness Walk Grilling Fundraiser, 11:00 am @ Cash Wise Foods at 1401 33rd St. S. in Fargo. Stop by for a delicious grilled lunch and support AFSP. Proceeds from this event support the Fargo/Moorhead Area Out of the Darkness Community Walk. We hope to see you there.

Kids Dance Clinic, 12:30 pm @ Moorhead High School. Included in the camp fee is a T-shirt, snack, and learning two routines with the Highlights Dance Team, as well as a performance opportunity at the first SPUDS home football game of the season. $25-$30.

Saturday, Aug 31:
Ricot’s Haitian Fritay, 10:00 am @ Red River Market at 63 5th St. N. Come check us out at the Red River Market to try our freshly made fried plantain and bissap (Hibiscus juice).

Chalk the School Block- Alumni Event, 5:00 pm @ St. Joseph’s School at 1005 2nd Ave. S. in Moorhead. Bring your whole family for an evening of reconnecting with your former classmates, while doing something special to welcome in the next generation of St. Joseph’s students. Join us as we fill the sidewalks around our school with welcoming messages and positive images. We will provide the chalk and light refreshments; you bring your family and friends.

Tuesday, Sept 3:
Moorhead Farmers’ Market, 3:30 pm @ Moorhead Ace Parking Lot at 20 6th St. S. Get Fresh. Go Local. Items for sale include fresh vegetables, fruit, baked goods, honey, jams, jellies, pet products, hand crafted items, food trucks, music, and so much more.

Wines of Loire Valley – with Sommelier Josh Voytek, 6:00 pm @ 99 Bottles at 924 Main Ave. in Moorhead. Please join 99 Bottles and Sommelier Josh Voytek for an interactive wine class to expand your knowledge and appreciation of wine. Tickets are $20 per person, which includes a 60-minute wine class and samples. You must purchase a ticket for each wine class you would like to attend.

Chess Club, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join chess players of every level for a chess skill share. Chess boards and books will be provided. Free.

Wednesday, Sept 4:
Cormorant Area Art Club’s First Famous Fauxs Art Show, All day @ The Atrium at Essentia Health at 17th Ave. S. and S. University in Fargo. The members of the Club were challenged with the goal of reproducing a famous artist’s painting in a medium different from that used by the original artist. Show runs through Oct. 31.
