Opening Reception for Solid Ground: MSUM Faculty Art Exhibit, 4:00 pm @ Rolland Dille Center for the Arts at MSUM. This reception celebrates an exhibit of faculty art titled “Solid Ground,” which opens Oct. 9 and runs through Nov. 1. Free.

MHS Girls Varsity Section Tourney vs. Elk River, 5:00 pm @ MHS.

Lego Club, 6:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. All ages and abilities are welcome to come make their own Lego creation at our Lego Club. Supplies provided to build. Free.

Music in the Parlor w/Concordia College, 6:30 pm @ Comstock House at 506 8th St. S. Recitals start at 6:30 pm, but doors open at 6:00 pm for light refreshments and house tours of one of Moorhead’s most historic homes. $0 – $5.

Candidate Forum, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. The League of Women Voters of the Red River Valley will be hosting a candidate forum for the Moorhead School Board candidates at the Moorhead Library.

Carus Lecture, 7:30 pm @ Knutson Centrum at Concordia College. Features Dr. Mark Sullivan,
professor at the University of Washington. He’ll discuss “Between Suffering and Survival:
Understanding the Dynamic Links Among Physical Pain, Social Pain and Addiction.” Free.

University Music Series Wind Ensemble Concert, 7:30 pm @ Hansen Theatre at MSUM. A
performance by the MSUM Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Monte Grise. $7-$9.

Friday, Oct 12:
Friends of the Moorhead Library Book Sale, 10:00 am @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th
St. S. All proceeds will go to support the Friends of the Moorhead Library.

Economic Development Authority Meeting, 11:00 am @ Hjemkomst Center – Oak Room.

Cultural Event: Project Trio, 7:30 pm @ Christiansen Recital Hall at Concordia College.
Bursting onto the scene with its landmark videos, right out of the internet generation, PROJECT
Trio is a musical experience defining a new level of entertainment. $10-$20.
