Elder facilities take step to prevent virus spread

An Invisimed technician sprays a common area in Farmstead Villa with a decontaminating compound.

Moorhead elder-care facilities have been taking precautions to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus among their residents.
Invisimed — a Twin Cities-based firm that specializes in environmental decontamination — visited the Farmstead Living complex last week to deep-clean its retirement, assisted living and memory-care buildings. Common areas were fogged with a virus- and bacteria-killing compound overnight Wednesday.
Owner Roger Erickson noted, “This is strictly precautionary.” He added, “We believe this rather expensive preventative procedure is a prudent step in being proactive during the coronavirus crisis.”
