Family Day is a day where children of all ages and adults come together to work on projects that help us understand the Museum exhibit or learn about techniques and materials. It takes place on the last Saturday of the month during the school year, from 10 am to noon, unless otherwise noted. Drop in or stay the entire time. There is no admission, although donations to cover materials are always welcome. Free Parking is available, compliments of the Museum.

Lantern Lit Snowshoe and Ski Event:

Location: Itasca State Park

Time: 5:00 – 7:30pm

Cost: Free

Meet at the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center. Come out and ski or snowshoe by the light of the moon and the kerosene lanterns along the trail. Trail follows the Many Lakes Road (South Entrance). Classic ski, skate ski or snowshoe at your own pace along the lantern lit route during this drop-in program. For added fun, bring along your s’mores fixings or hot dogs for cooking at the campfire or stop in and warm up at the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center.

Look to the Stars: Telescope Basics:

Location: Fargo Public Library – Main

If you recently got a telescope or are considering getting one, this workshop led by members the F-M Astronomy Club will teach the basics of how to use a telescope. Club members will be bringing their own telescopes to show the different types and how they work. You are welcome to bring your own telescope if you have questions about setting it up or using it. Weather permitting, a telescope will be set up outside to look at the moon.
