Thursday, May 2:
FM Ballet Storytime, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Children of all ages are welcome to join the Moorhead Public Library and the Fargo Moorhead Ballet with this fun storytime! FM Ballet dancers will read a story and teach ballet dance moves! Program runs about half an hour. Free.

FM Audubon Meeting, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. The meeting will include a discussion of sightings during the spring migration, the upcoming Fargo Birding Festival, and a talk from Mike Bush 9 (Audubon Dakota staffer) on Everglades’ restoration and why people in the Midwest should care.

Moorhead High String Solo and Ensemble Concert, 7:30 pm @ Moorhead High School Auditorium.

Friday, May 3:
Great Gatsby Night w/ Live Music by Kathie Brekke, 7:00 pm @ MSUM. We’re pulling together a fancy evening for all of our community’s dancers, with offerings of mocktails, snacks, a photo booth, and of course, live music from Kathie Brekke and her 42nd St Jazz Band. The evening starts with a basic swing dance lesson at 7:00, with the music kicking off at 8:00. $5-$10.

Saturday, May 4:
Therapy Pets, 2:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Help boost your kid’s reading confidence with a 15-minute read-aloud session with a local therapy pet. Participants are welcome to bring their own books or choose from the library’s collection. Free.

Performance of “The Lion King Kids,” 2:00 pm @ Horizon Performing Arts Center.

Commencement Concert, 3:00 pm @ Memorial Auditorium at Concordia College. The final concert of the academic year is the Commencement Concert at Concordia. Free.

Moorhead High School Prom, 7:30 pm @ Moorhead High School.

Economic Development Authority Meeting, 11:45 am @ City Hall.

Ask a Techspert, 2:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Come to an open computer lab to practice your technology skills. Staff will be available to assist and answer your questions. Free.

Tuesday, May 7:
How to Make a Rain Barrel Workshop, 6:00 pm @ MB Johnson Park at 3601 11th St. N. Save money on your water bill and protect the Red River’s water quality by making your own rain barrel. This workshop includes a short presentation about the basics of water quality, the effects of storm water runoff and step by step building of a rain barrel. $39 fee includes supplies.

Horizon East Grade 7 Choir & Honor Choir Performance, 6:30 pm @ Horizon Performing Arts Center.

Chess Club, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join chess players of every level for a chess skill share. Chess boards and books will be provided. Free.

Storytime, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Children of all ages are invited to joins us for stories, songs, and poems. Program runs about half an hour. Free.

Moorhead Friends Writing Group, 7:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Share your writing, discuss ideas and network with other writers during this regular meeting, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Moorhead Library. All are welcome.

Wednesday, May 8:
MBA’s Let’s Talk Business, 7:00 am @ Fryn’ Pan Family Restaurant. Speaker: Jonathan Atkins, Traffic Engineer with the City of Moorhead w/an update on the road closures.

Circle of Parents Successful Parenting, 1:00 pm @ Clay County Family Service Center at 715 11th St. N. Room 7. Circle of Parents is a place where anyone in a parenting role can openly discuss the successes and challenges of raising children. It’s a place where parents can find and share support. This group is provided free of charge.

Dangers for Youth in Using E-Cigarettes, Vaping and Tobacco Program, 6:30 pm @ Grace United Methodist Church at 1120 17th St. S. Jason McCoy, MPH, Clay County Public Health Tobacco Prevention Coordinator, will present this program. There is no charge for this program. The public is invited. It targets parents, adults, middle, and high school students. Dessert and coffee will follow the presentation.
