A new source of delicious energy has opened this week at the corner of Eighth Street and 24th Avenue South – 7 Brew Drive-Thru Coffee.
You can expect more than the menu of seven original flavor-boosted espresso drinks plus the extensive menu of coffee-shop classics and cold beverages. Says manager Jenna Johnson, “7 Brew is very big on engaging with people and making connections. Our goal is to make you smile.”
The company’s website spells out the concept: “Come for the energy. Come again for the people.”
The south Moorhead shop is the first franchise in the metro area, one of what promises to be at least 25 over the next five years. Other outposts of the Arkansas-based franchise have opened recently in Grand Forks and Bemidji, with a fourth planned for St. Cloud in coming months.
According to corporate store opener Karli Ziem – one of seven trainers working with the new staff this week – the coffee stand near the former Brookdale site is among nearly 500 7 Brews that have opened since the original shop was established in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2017. Franchising began in 2020.
Among 7 Brew’s signature espresso drinks are the Blondie, with vanilla and caramel, and the Brunette, with hazelnut and caramel mocha; the Cinnamon Roll, with brown sugar, cinnamon and white chocolate; and Sweet and Salty, with salted caramel and white chocolate. Regular coffees are also available, including decaf and sugar-free choices.
The cold energy-drink menu includes the blue Ocean Breeze, the Sunrise and the Pixie Stick. A selection of teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes rounds out the menu.
7 Brew officially opens on Monday, July 28, but will offer free small drinks during “friends and family” hours in coming days, including 7 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday plus 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The free drinks continue next Monday through Friday: 8-9 a.m., noon-1 p.m., and 5-6 p.m. Regular hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
