Three blocks of Main Avenue were blocked Monday to accommodate continued construction of the 11th Street underpass. The area — from 10th to 13th Streets — includes Hornbacher’s and Magnifi Financial.
The detour directs drivers one block south to Second Avenue South. The latest detour, along with the existing construction area on First Avenue North, is expected to remain in place through November while crews work on underground utility replacement and reconstruction of 11th Street to tie into the future underpass bridges.
BNSF is also working on placing track on the main rail alignment of the Hillsboro line. By month’s end, trains will return to the mainline track while work continues on the underpass.
