This might not be considered a “recipe” but maybe more inspiration… Did you know you can re-crisp a stale chip!? Amy had no idea, but leave it to JJ to spread some of his grandfather’s wisdom. If you have chips that have gone a bit stale, don’t let your money go to waste!

Here are some quick and effective tips to re-crisp stale chips (potato chips, tortilla chips, etc.) and bring back the crunch:

The oven seems to be the most preferred method. This works because the oven removes the excess moisture that made the chips stale.

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Spread chips in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Bake for 5–10 minutes, checking at the 5-minute mark.

Let them cool before eating — they’ll crisp up more as they cool.

Using a microwave might not be the preferred method, but it will get the job done quickly.

Spread a small batch of chips on a paper towel-lined plate.

Microwave for short bursts of time (10-30 second increments)

Let them sit for a minute to cool and crisp.

Don’t overdo it, the chips will burn or get chewy.

And, lastly, if you have an air fryer, try that!

Preheat to 350°F

Place chips in the basket in a single layer.

Air-fry for 2–4 minutes, shaking halfway through.
