
Two women and four men were sworn in as members of the Moorhead Police Force at the Moorhead City Council meeting Aug. 11.
Four men and two women have been sworn in as officers of the Moorhead Police Department, bringing it closer to its full force of 64.
The ceremony was conducted before the Moorhead City Council on Aug. 11, with the new officers’ families participating in pinning on their badges. Their addition reduces the number of current openings to 14.
Officer Jacob Olson brings nearly 10 years of experience from the Minot Police Department, where he served in several specialized roles including bomb technician, field training officer and school resource officer. He was also a taser instructor and managed the department’s AXON products.
Officer Bethany Leadbetter has a decade of law enforcement experience. She has served as a defensive tactics instructor, active shooter instructor, and tactical medical instructor. Her diverse training background strengthens our department’s readiness and resilience.
Officer Erika Broer, a native of Duluth, graduated from Minnesota Community and Technical College here. She spent three years at the Clay County Correctional Facility, where she was a training officer. This is her first position as a sworn officer.
Officer William Case has served in the North Dakota National Guard for nearly 17 years, holding roles as a helicopter crew chief, military funeral honors team member, and training manager. He also served as a resiliency instructor, helping service members build skills to manage stress and adversity.
Officer Cameron Schlichting is from Red Wing, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Rochester Community and Technical College and brings a strong work ethic and commitment to public service.
Officer Gage Mille served nine years in the Minnesota Army National Guard as an infantryman; he is currently a Bradley commander. He also has six years of law enforcement experience in Stearns County, Minnesota, including assignments as a K9 handler and SWAT sniper.
