It is hard to believe that Summer is over, Labor day passed and schools in session. It was a very busy and productive summer. We have made great headway regarding our building project, lots of meetings and back and forth with the top people at the VA. Our interior design has changed some but our Chapel design stays as it is. The focal point of the building. It was kind of funny having to explain to people that have never experienced one of our winters that we avoid putting any doors on the north side of a structure, especially the main doors, lol.
On Sept 7th from 1pm to 7pm the Budweiser Clydesdales will be at the Moorhead American Legion. Come enjoy one of our National Treasures and a true representation of Americana.
On Sept 11th there will be a “stand down” at Broadway square. Lots of booths and information about the various services and opportunities for Veterans. There will also be a program for remembrance of the lives lost on that faithful day. The Fargo VFW will host a free meal. Please come down and enjoy the comradeship our Veterans community has to offer.
STAY OFF THE GRASS!!!!! Another funny Army thing. You were forbidden to walk on grass, unless of course there was a formation of Battalion level or higher. If there wasn’t such an occasion you better not be caught walking on that grass. A clear and concise butt chewing would result if such an egregious offense was committed.
In closing I wanna thank everyone for the positive feedback I really try to make for an informative and enjoyable article.
