LARL ANNOUNCES THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

MOORHEAD – All Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) branches and LINK sites will close at or before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23 and will remain closed on Thursday, November 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

LARL’s branch libraries are located in Ada, Bagley, Barnesville, Breckenridge, Climax, Crookston, Detroit Lakes, Fertile, Fosston, Hawley, Mahnomen, McIntosh and Moorhead. LARL’s LINK sites are found in Cormorant, Frazee, Gonvick, Halstad, Hendrum, Lake Park, Rothsay, Twin Valley and Ulen.

HOLIDAY SHOWCASE RETURNS TO FARGO NOV. 18-19

Nearly 140 companies selling Pride of Dakota merchandise will fill the Fargo Scheels Arena during Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19.

Holiday shoppers can choose from an outstanding selection of North Dakota-made gourmet food, wine and spirits, books, jewelry, apparel, personal care, pottery, quilting, photography and framed art, children’s items and more.

The showcase is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission and shopping bags are free and sponsored by the Bank of North Dakota College SAVE Plan. Parking is also free for Pride of Dakota shoppers.

The event also includes a real bearded Santa who will be available for visiting and photo opportunities. Santa’s hours are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday. He will take periodic breaks to feed the reindeer.

YMCA LAUNCHES MINI 

FOOD PANTRIES

FARGO – The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is excited to launch our ‘Mini Food Pantries’. The mini pantry movement is a nationwide grassroots, crowdsourced solution to immediate and local needs. Whether a need for food or need to give, mini pantries help feed neighbors, nourishing neighborhoods. Our Y will be hosting three boxes around the community for our neighbors to give and take as they wish, including the following locations:

• Fercho YMCA, 400 1st Ave. S. Fargo, ND 58103

• Schlossman YMCA, 4243 19th Ave. S. Fargo, ND 58103

• West Fargo Early Learning Center, 109 3rd St. E. West Fargo, ND 58078

In the boxes, we will be collecting non-perishable foods and small seasonal items, like hats, mittens, and socks. To find out more, go to ymcacassclay.org/pantry

Thanksgiving Day/Week Schedule Changes

MOORHEAD – City of Moorhead offices will be closed for Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 24, and reopen on Friday, November 25. 

Garbage/recycling: Based on feedback about the Veterans Day garbage pickup schedule, Thanksgiving schedule is revised to affect fewer residents. 

Thursday (November 24) and Friday (November 25) garbage and recycling will be picked up Friday. The City of Moorhead Garbage Transfer Station will be closed on November 24 and will be open 8 am-noon on November 25.

MATBUS: There will be no MATBUS or MAT Paratransit service on November 24; the Ground Transportation Center will also be closed. Services will resume November 25.
