NEW YEAR’S DAY HOLIDAY SERVICE CHANGES

MOORHEAD – City of Moorhead offices will be closed for New Year’s Day (observed) on Monday, January 2 and reopen on Tuesday, January 3. Important service impacts:

Garbage/Recycling: Monday, January 2 garbage and recycling routes will be collected on Tuesday, January 3. All other routes the week after New Year’s will be collected on the regularly scheduled day. Please be aware the shift in route schedules may cause early or delayed collection this week; set your trash out by 4 am to ensure it is collected. The City of Moorhead Garbage Transfer Station will also be closed on January 2.

MATBUS: There will be no MAT Paratransit service Sunday, January 1. Services will resume January 2.

All Clay County buildings including the Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed January 2nd in observance of New Years.

All County offices will be back to normal schedule January 3rd 2023.

LIBRARIES OFFERING WINTER READING CHALLENGE JAN. 1 THROUGH FEB. 28

MOORHEAD – Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) is welcoming 2023 by bringing back Book Blizzard, a reading contest that challenges adults to keep their reading resolutions.

To enter the contest, simply read or listen to four books – you can enter as many times as you wish. To participate, visit a library near you to pick up a reading log or participate virtually using the Beanstack website or mobile app. You can register for the virtual version of the contest by visiting larl.org/bookblizzard or by downloading the mobile app for your Android or Apple device.

Book Blizzard is available from January 1 through February 28, 2022. 

LARL’s branch libraries are located in Ada, Bagley, Barnesville, Breckenridge, Climax, Crookston, Detroit Lakes, Fertile, Fosston, Hawley, Mahnomen, McIntosh and Moorhead. LARL’s LINK sites are found in Cormorant, Frazee, Gonvick, Halstad, Hendrum, Lake Park, Rothsay, Twin Valley and Ulen.
