THE FARGO POLICE DEPARTMENT IDENTIFIES DECEASED INDIVIDUAL FOUND NEAR RED RIVER
FARGO – On Sunday, May 25 The Fargo Police Department was dispatched to the area of the 100 block of Maple Street North near the Red River.
A fisherman walking in Oak Grove Park near the river found an unresponsive adult male in a wooded area and called 911. FPD officers responded to the scene, and it was determined that the male was deceased. The call was initially dispatched as a water rescue given the proximity to the river, but a water rescue response was not needed.
“The deceased individual has been identified as 28-year-old Aaron Brook Hadley, who did not have a permanent address. The Fargo Police Department is working with the Cass County Coroner’s Office and the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. No further information is available at this time.”

MOTHER ARRESTED FOR 2ND DEGREE MURDER OF HER 20 MONTH OLD CHILD
MOORHEAD – The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the victim of the suspicious death as 20-month-old Jose Lazarus Zamora, of Moorhead. The preliminary autopsy indicated the child’s manner of death was homicide.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the child’s mother, 32-year-old Valerie Connie Zamora of Moorhead, was arrested in Fargo and taken to the Cass County Jail where she will be held until she can be extradited back to Moorhead. She will be charged via long form complaint from the Clay County Attorney’s office for 2nd Degree Murder.
The Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Clay County Attorney’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Fargo Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and there is no other information to release at this time.

CONSTRUCTION ON CSAH 34 (160TH AVE N) TO BEGIN FRIDAY, MAY 30TH
Construction on CSAH 34 (160th Ave N) will begin on Friday, May 30th, from CSAH 11 (70th St N) to MN Highway 9 and from the city of Ulen east to the Clay County line.
The project consists of milling and surfacing. The road will remain open during the project however traffic will be reduced to single lane, with pilot cars guiding traffic through the project. Motorists can expect delays. The project is to be completed by Friday, September 19th, 2025.
