LANDON’S LIGHT FOUNDATION TO HOST INAUGURAL OUTDOOR HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL INVITATIONAL

WEST FARGO – Landon’s Light Foundation is proud to announce with support and participation from West Fargo Public Schools, Fargo Public Schools, JPII Catholic Schools, and Moorhead Public Schools, the first-ever Landon’s Light Volleyball Invite, set to take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Essentia Health Plaza at The Lights. This first of its kind outdoor high school volleyball event will shine a light on local athletes and bring the community together in the spirit of competition, inspiration, and giving back.

The idea initiated with a group of volleyball dads from Sheyenne high school and now is becoming a reality. The day will feature matchups between top area high school volleyball teams in a dynamic open-air setting. The event represents more than just volleyball—it’s a celebration of youth, strength, and the power of community, held in honor of Landon Solberg, whose legacy continues to inspire hope and courage in the lives of children facing serious medical challenges.

Schedule of games are as follows:

Game 1 – 1:30 pm – Shanley vs. Fargo Davies

Game 2 – 3:30 pm – Horace vs. Fargo North

Game 3 – 5:30 pm – West Fargo vs. Moorhead

Game 4 – 7:30 pm – Sheyenne vs. Fargo South

“We’re incredibly excited to bring this unique event to the Essentia Health Plaza at The Lights,” said Julie Christianson, Executive Director of Landon’s Light Foundation. “Landon loved sports, and he loved seeing people come together. This event reflects his spirit and the spirit of all the children we have served through our mission. We’re honored to partner with local schools and the West Fargo community to make it happen.”

Proceeds from the event will support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide hope, joy, and support to children battling serious illnesses, as well as initiatives that encourage all kids to grow in their academics, faith, and physical well-being.

Admission for this historic event is a minimum cash-only donation of $15 for adults, $5 for students, and children 6 and under free. Mac Daddy’s and Hot Off the Press food trucks as well as West Fargo Events concessions will be available throughout the afternoon and evening.
