CITY SERVICES SCHEDULE FOR VETERANS DAY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11

Tuesday’s trash routes picked up on Wednesday; City offices closed; no MATBUS service for select routes.

MOORHEAD – City of Moorhead offices will be closed for Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11 and reopen on Wednesday, November 12.

Garbage/Recycling: Tuesday (November 11) garbage and recycling routes will be collected on Wednesday. All other routes on Monday and Wednesday – Friday will be collected on their regularly scheduled day. Please be aware the shift in route schedules may cause early or delayed collection this week; set your trash out by 4 am to ensure it is collected.

MATBUS: There will be regular MATBUS and MAT Paratransit service on most routes on November 11; There will be no service on NDSU routes 31, 33, 34, and NDSU On-Demand. MATBUS Administrative Offices will be closed.

VETERANS DAY HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR FARGO CITY OFFICES, CASS PUBLIC HEALTH, MATBUS, MUNICIPAL COURT AND FARGO LIBRARIES

FARGO – The City of Fargo offices, Municipal Court, all Fargo Public Library locations and Fargo Cass Public Health, including WIC and the clinic, will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, and will re-open to the public on Wednesday, November 12.

All garbage and recycling collections will run on schedule. Residents are reminded to always place garbage carts and recycling bins out for collection by 8 a.m. on their normal garbage day. The Fargo Sanitary Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be open during normal hours Tuesday, November 11.

City MATBUS routes and MAT Paratransit service will be unaffected by the holiday, and the Ground Transportation Center will remain open. NDSU routes will not operate on Tuesday, November 11, and MATBUS administrative offices will be closed for the holiday.

The public lobbies of Fargo Police Department Headquarters (105 25th St. N.) and Fargo Fire Department Station 1 (637 NP Ave.) will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. However, full police and fire protection will continue during the holiday.

The regular City Commission meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. on Monday, November 10, in Commission Chambers at Fargo City Hall, 225 4th St. N., will not be affected by the holiday.

THE CITY OF FARGO AND MINNKOTA RECYCLING PARTNER FOR “CANS TO CARTONS” RECYCLING CHALLENGE

FARGO – During the month of November, The City of Fargo will partner with MinnKota Recycling to promote the “Cans to Cartons” Recycling Challenge.

MinnKota Recycling will provide a one-cent-per-pound match for all aluminum cans collected in November at The City of Fargo’s recycling sites (listed below).

Proceeds from the one-cent match will benefit the Milk and Elementary Snack Program in Fargo Public Schools. The program provides milk for elementary students for their mid-morning snack.

Fargo Park District maintenance building – 4515 University Drive S.

Centennial Elementary School – 4201 25th St. S.

Lewis & Clark Elementary School – 1729 16th St. S.

Osgood Fire Station – 3957 Village Lane

In 2024, The City of Fargo, MinnKota Recycling and Metro Sports Foundation collected $1,000 for the Milk and Elementary Snack Program, along with a $1,000 match through Giving Hearts Day. These donations provided 4,445 cartons of milk for students in Fargo Public Schools.
