Clay County Board of Commissioners chair Jenny Mongeau, Dist. 3, announced on Tuesday that she is running for re-election to the board. Her current term expires next January.
First elected to the board in 2014, Mongeau has served her district for the past 12 years.
District 3 consists of the cities of Barnesville, Comstock, Sabin and Ward 4, Precinct 12 of Moorhead. The district also includes 13 townships: Alliance, Barnesville, Eglon, Elkton, Hawley, Holy Cross, Humboldt, Kurtz, Moorhead, Parke, Skree and Tansem.
Mongeau also serves on dozens of committees, including the Planning Commission, Metro COG Policy Board, Buffalo Red River Watershed, FM Diversion Authority and Red River Basin.
Mongeau touts her platform of continued collaborative leadership, fiscal responsibility and strong advocacy for county residents.
During her board tenure, Mongeau lists significant investments in public safety as a high priority, along with mental health services, long-term operational planning, and a collaboration across local, regional and state partners.
Mongeau is married with four children and lives in rural Clay County. She is a graduate of Moorhead High School.
