Brookdale Spirits, the neighborhood liquor store located in the Brookdale Mall, has a new owner, a larger inventory of hard liquor, beer and wine, and Door Dash — bringing customers’ orders to their doors while they stay home, safe and warm.

Theresa Sorenson of Fargo purchased the store last fall from former owner Angela Jordahl. Since then, Sorenson — a vice president of Aspire Bank — has been adding to its selection of hard liquors and wines, giving its interior a tweak and enhancing its appeal to the community, visitors and the college crowd.

“I’ve always wanted to own a liquor store,” the new owner says. “We have made some physical changes to make it warmer and a little more comfortable, but our friendly, welcoming employees are really what set us apart.”

Sorenson has expanded the array of vodka, tequila, rum and whiskey, and added more wines, along with custom-made shelving along the Wall of Wine.

Her biggest innovation, though, focuses on convenience. “Customers can now place their orders online and have them delivered with Door Dash,” she says. “That’s going to be great as the weather gets worse. They can find what they want, then have it brought right to their door without having to get out of their recliners and go out into the weather to drive.”

Brookdale Spirits is now open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 pm.
