Missing & Murdered Indigenous Person’s Event: 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Gaede Stage at MSUM in Moorhead. An event that will raise awareness about and encourage discussion of MMIP. Free.

Voice/Piano Song Recital: 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 1420 7th St. N. in Fargo. Free.

“The Articulate Hour” Presentation: 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The two-part television program makes sense of big ideas. Through conversations with artists, scholars, and other great creative thinkers, we explore our complex world through a lens of arts, culture, and science. Eric A. Johnson” opens at The Rourke: The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum is pleased to present “When to Stop: New Paintings by Eric A. Johnson”, on view from 5 May through 11 June 2023. The exclusive Member Preview of the exhibit is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday 5 May 2023. All are welcome for the Public Opening from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday 7 May, with a gallery talk by the artist at 2 p.m. Visitors may enjoy Johnson’s art and all the exhibits on display during public viewing hours, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Apple Tree Pruning Workshop: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Orchard Glen Park at 7610 Forest River Road in Fargo. Please join Fargo Park Forester, Sam DeMarais and Jim Walla, owner of Northern Tree Specialties for a workshop that will cover how to prune apple and other fruit trees for best form, fruit production and health. Spring Artisan Market: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Cellar 624, The Venue on Main at 624 Main Ave. Ste. 4b in Fargo. Shop local artists, makers, and creative small businesses while enjoying drinks, food, and desserts in Cellar 624’s modern, historic atmosphere. 

KidsFest: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. This free event includes tons of outdoor activities including a petting zoo, painting, Storytime with a firefighter, PBS characters, the Tooth Fairy, bubbles, yoga, a Story Stroll, giveaways, and more.

Saturday Storytime with a Firefighter: 10:30 – 11:0 am. Celebrate International Firefighter’s Day with us and a local firefighter from the Moorhead Fire Department. Enjoy a special themed storytime with us during ECI KidsFest. Free.

National Pet Week Kickoff Event: 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Broadway Square in Downtown Fargo. Enjoy some quality time chilling with your best bud. We’ll have plenty of tennis balls, pet activities, a pet water fountain, and a water bottle filling station for humans. 

“Masterpiece” Television Series: 8:00 pm on Prairie Public. One of the greatest novels in the English language comes to television on “Masterpiece” in a four-part adaptation of Henry Fielding’s Tom Jones, bringing mid-18th-century England to life in all its passion and prejudice, luxury, and loose morals. CDBG Public Meeting for 2022 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER): 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Hjemkomst Center Oak Room at 202 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead. The City of Moorhead has prepared the 2022 Report for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Performance and Evaluation Report. The CAPER summarizes the CDBG grant funds that were spent in the program year 2022 and reports on the accomplishments of the planned activities. The City of Moorhead will hold this public meeting to discuss the report outcomes before submitting the report to HUD.

“People of the North” Television Series: 8:00 pm on Prairie Public. A new television series that visits spectacular places across the northern points of Scandinavia. Hosted by Norwegian television personality Arne Hjeltnes, Swedish chef Frida Ronge, and award-winning distiller Stig Bareksten, the team explores the food, culture, land, traditions, and people who live in this isolated part of the world. “Wild Scandinavia” Television Series: 7:00 pm on Prairie Public. “Wild Scandinavia” immerses us in three iconic Scandinavian landscapes: the hauntingly beautiful coast, the magical seasonal forests, and the volcanic and arctic extremes. Surprising wildlife stories of lynx and puffins, orca, and wolves, reveal the resilient spirit of Scandinavia.
