Fargo Birding Festival: 7:00 – 11:00 am. Forest River Park in Fargo. Join the Fargo Park District and Audubon Great Plains for a morning of birds and binoculars in beautiful South Fargo. This birding festival is held in Forest River Park, which is designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society and Birdlife International. All skill levels are welcome, and no registration is required for this free event.

Spring Plant Sale: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society Greenhouse at 1211 28th Ave. N. in Fargo. An assortment of locally grown plants will be sold, including perennials, annuals, wildflowers, vegetables, and herbs. All proceeds benefit the Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society and the Northern Plains Botanic Garden.

Annual Book Sale: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Moorhead Masonic Family Center at 1815 11th St. N. in Moorhead.

Coffee & Critique: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum at 521 Main Ave. in Moorhead. The Rourke invites you to Coffee and Critique, an informal monthly community critique for bouncing ideas off your fellow artists and gaining fresh perspective from others in and outside of your own discipline. Bring your unfinished work and mull it over. Bring your own supplies for open studio time. Or simply pull up a chair for coffee and fellowship with the artistic community. This event is free and open to all media and all career stages.

Bee House Making and Pollinator Discussion: 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Gooseberry Mound Park Small Shelter in Moorhead. Participants will make simple bee houses, and the United Prairie Foundation will also have some liatris corms to be re-potted and given away. Crystal Rayamajhi from the City of Moorhead and John Devries from United Prairie Foundation will share information. Please bring a relatively skinny plastic bottle to create the bee house. Organizers will provide the rest of the supplies. This will be a family-friendly event and a fun way for kids to make a Mother’s Day craft while learning how to help our pollinators. Free.

One of the greatest novels in the English language comes to television on “Masterpiece” in a four-part adaptation of Henry Fielding’s Tom Jones, bringing mid-18th-century England to life in all its passion and prejudice, luxury, and loose morals. Buckthorn Pruning Volunteer Event: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. MB Johnson Park in Moorhead. Volunteers will be using pruners supplied by Audubon Great Plains to trim back buckthorn regrowth to help keep this invasive species at bay. Snacks and water will be available.
