Easy goulash recipe

From the kitchens of Amy & JJ

This recipe comes from Lori Ishaug. We met Lori through her work with the Veterans Honor Flight. She, and her two sisters Diane and Susie, are Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN board members and volunteers. I imagine how proud their Mom would be to see these three ladies in action! They dedicate so much time and talent to ensure Veterans have a trip of a lifetime to see and experience monuments built in their honor.

And, you know what they say about getting things done? Ask a busy person… so, that’s what we did! In lieu of Mother’s Day, we asked Lori to submit her Mom’s goulash recipe she’s been bragging about. Without further adieu, Marlene Ishaug’s goulash recipe for all to enjoy.

Mom’s goulash recipe

1 1/2 pound hamburger (while browning the hamburger put in celery and onions – and add some spice – garlic, pepper and maybe a few red pepper flakes)

After the hamburger is done – add:

One can of diced tomatoes

One can of tomato sauce

Two little cans of V-8 juice

While the sauce mixture is cooking, boil 3 cups of macaroni.

When the macaroni is done, combine with sauce mixture, transfer to a hot dish bowl and cook for one hour at 350°.
