The Clay County Empty Agriculture Pesticide Container Collection will be held the first week of September at the Clay County Landfill. There is no charge to drop containers up to 55 gallons. This collection is for empty agricultural pesticide containers from Clay County. Residential chemicals labeled for household use will not be accepted.
Residents are encouraged to drop off containers for recycling. The containers are “chipped “onsite and hauled to Iowa for marketing. The chipped plastic is marketed to manufacturers that produce plastic pallets and yard edging.
Collection Details
• Location: Clay County Landfill, 3301 190thSt S, Hawley
• Dates and Times: Tuesday, September 2nd through Friday, September 5th from 8:00am4:00pm each day.
• Container Preparation: Containers must be triple rinsed, and labels must be removed.
• Fee: There is no fee for containers up to 55 gallons
