This month is the Clay County Empty Pesticide Container Collection. The empty pesticide container collection is for empty agricultural pesticide containers from Clay County. The containers are “chipped” and the plastic is recycled. Residents are encouraged to drop off containers for recycling rather than disposing of the container by other methods. There is no cost to drop off containers up to 55 gallons at this event.

Empty agricultural pesticide containers will be collected at the Clay County Landfill, 3301 190thSt S, Hawley Monday, August 17th through Friday, August 21st from 8:30am- 4:00pm each day. Containers must be triple rinsed, and labels must be removed.

Containers up to 55 gallons will be taken at no charge. 55 gallons and larger containers will be taken for a fee of $10 each. Please call Clay County Solid Waste at 218 299-5079 with questions about this collection.
