Ghost Story

I thought I’d sneak one more Halloween related story in this week. Actually it’s a ghost story. I’ve heard the bumps and seen a shadow or two at night in my life but all were explainable. Creaking old floor, winds blowing a tree branch on the side of the house, you know what I mean.

But once I was invited by the FM Paranormal group to go on an investigation of a home that was supposed to be haunted by a ghost.

It was late at night and the house was two stories with a basement. The equipment was much the same as you would see on those Ghost hunter shows except no control center in a truck outside the home.

Video cameras were set up, digital voice recorders, EMF detectors, digital still cameras, thermal detectors and more. As I recall we started at about 10pm or so and went way into the early morning hours before dawn. Cameras would be rolling and all information recorded and meticulously examined later over the next several weeks.

Questions were always being spoken to the supposed spirit. “If you’re here, knock”; “Please show us a sign you’re here.” Each question would be re-examined later digitally to see if there was a response.

I will be very truthful to you. There were those in the group that felt something, heard something, saw something. Me though, not a thing. The EMF detectors were lit up like Christmas tree lights showing some kind of energy present in the bedroom. Perhaps this ghost just didn’t like me.

BUT THEN…I was stationed in an upstairs bedroom. In it, were only a crib and a small chair and a bathroom. I was told people have said the spirit often was noticed in this small bathroom that was just off a hall.

When you took pictures, you took them in the dark with flash. Then each digital picture is magnified and examined for any type of evidence of a ghost. Let me say that I had a camera. It was my personal camera. I took photos and examined them myself. In a shot I took of the bathroom from 20 feet or so, I zoomed in and I saw it. A ghostly face in front of the toilet tank. I couldn’t believe it, but there it was!

Could there be a quirk with the lighting? The only light was the flash from my camera, MY camera. It was so weird. “I didn’t talk to you, didn’t touch you, but I did let you take me picture.” (The ghost didn’t say that I made the line-up.) Does this ghost exist? Check my blog at www.kfgo.com where the photo is posted and see what you think. If you dare!!!
