Been a busy few weeks in the Veteran community.

On November 24th we had our official ground breaking ceremony at the Fargo National cemetery. Many VIPs and dignitaries. Most notably Sam Brown, under secretary of the VA. Brown is a purple heart recipient from the Afghanistan War. Way taller in real life. The guy is like 6’4” and towered over many of us, lol. It was a true honor to have such representation from The National Cemetery Administration. As many know, this has been a uphill fight since day one of it being an idea. I hope the people who fought so hard against know that WE always knew it would happen. We were willing to fight and put in the work, now Victory is ours. Many of them have come and gone and a few will be facing some very justified repercussions for their actions and abuse of positions. But alas, that’s a fight for another time. For now lets stay on the positive.

Last Wednesday was a true show of support for one of our Nations Veterans. Ricky Allen Boyd died with nobody: friends, family, etc…. We shared the time and place and had around 50 people show up for his service. It is humbling to see that type of respect and support. THANK YOU!!!!!!

This past Saturday a small group of Veterans carried our Nations colors in the parade of lights. While our numbers decrease, there is still that duty to serve amongst us. When you have a 70 plus recent cancer survivor march in these parades it is an amazing thing. It does make me wonder at what point will some younger Veterans step up. You see Veteran license plates everywhere, hats, t-shirts etc…. But not available.

In closing, on Saturday the 13th of December please join us in placing wreaths on the head stones of our Veterans buried at the National Cemetery. Wreaths across America is a Nationwide event.

What: Wreaths across America

Where: Fargo National cemetery

When: 11:00am December 13th 2025

Funny Army stuff: As we know winter is now here, but in the Army winter starts October 1st and Ends April 1st. What do I mean? Well, sleeves went down, jungle boots closeted, short sleeves went to long sleeves on class Bs. And a ton of other things. We didn’t operate by temperature we operated by calendar. I was quite happy and comfortable wearing short sleeves in mid Oct at the national cemetery. But now I’m afraid winter is here.
