Honey Pecan Party Mix

This weeks recipe is one that my daughter shared with me a few years ago. It has a little different taste because of the honey and it only has 1/3 cup of butter. I like to use butter in recipes instead of margarine, as the flavor is better and I think margarine has too much water in it so the end product is not as good. I get a littler weary of the reports that are printed on this or that being unhealthy in your diet; now it seems that butter is not all that bad for us. I think the key to anything in your diet is moderation.

My wish for you is to have peace and joy this holiday season as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross so that we may have eternal life in heaven.

Honey Pecan Party Mix

Mix together in a large pan or roaster:

6 Cups Crispix

1 Cup pecan halves

1 Cup pretzels

Stir together and boil five minutes:

1/3 Cup butter

3/4 Cup brown sugar

1/4 Cup honey

1 Teaspoon vanilla

Pour the hot mixture over the cereal, nuts and pretzels; stir to coat well. Bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour out on cookie sheets and separate while it cools. Store in a covered container.
