The 13th annual Fargo Fantastic Film Festival celebrates the “cinema of the fantastic” (sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thrillers, etc.) with over 500 films submitted from over 30 countries! The Art of Bad Men:

An imaginative story of true events, looking back in time to WWII when German POW’s lived, worked – and produced a play – in Northern Minnesota. Playwright Vincent Delaney joins B for workshops, rehearsals, and conversations before our World Premiere.

Sickies Garage Presents Sicktoberfest:

Sickies Garage in Fargo and Jade Presents are proud to present Sicktoberfest, a free, three-day Oktoberfest celebration. Inspired by the season, Sickies’ impressive selection of authentic German beer and the every-growing local brewing industry, Sicktoberfest is expected to be a “prost” to Oktoberfest’s best traditions. In addition to authentic Bavarian music, dancing and German food, patrons of all ages will be able to enjoy games like hammerschlagen, tauziehen (German tug-of-war), compete in the brat toss or a sauerkraut-eating contests and attendees ages 21 and over can also compete in the stein-hoisting contest for door prizes. Friday’s selection features Fleischkugel Feed and Saturday’s menu is a Bavarian Combo Platter.

CHI Friendship Oktoberfest:

All proceeds will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for the people we support. We will also be selling our Friendship cookbooks at a special Oktoberfest price of $5.

Pancake Breakfast:

Location: Masonic Family Center at 1815 11th St. N. in Moorhead

Date: Oct 10 (Every Saturday)

Dine in or carry out. Swedish and buttermilk pancakes, sausage, eggs, orange juice and coffee, a la carte also available. Mini bazaar and home-baked items weekly. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Fall Bazaar:

Location: Faith Lutheran Church at 127- 2nd Avenue East in West Fargo

Sale includes a variety of unique hand-crafted items, a quilt raffle, crafts and baked goods. A homemade soup and sandwich lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Xcelerate! Awesome Art Afternoons:

Location: Robert D. Johnson Recreation Center in Fargo

Love art but hate the mess? Bring your child to this interactive art program to have fun while building a variety of take home projects. All creative materials will be provided. This program is free thanks to a grant from Xcel Energy. Adult supervision required. No registration required.

Open Skate:

Open skate is now available at the Moorhead Sports Center for the fall and winter season. Lace up your skates and join in the fun every Sunday. Limited skate rental is available for $1.00.

Bitsy, the Busy Biker, Rides to the Rourke:

Ride over to the Rourke Art Museum for a fun family event that is sure to make kids excited about Minnesota state facts featured in the new edition to the Gingerbread Cousins Series. Meet the authors of the book series, Linda Francis and Judy Kvaale, and have them sign your copy of the newly published Bitsy, the Busy Biker ~Minnesota~. McCal Joy, illustrator of the new book, will be doing a demonstration, and a talk along with the authors. Enjoy gingerbread treats and a coloring competition that will inspire the Gingerbread Cousin in the next book.
