Wolftree Magazine’s Volume 2 Launch Party:

Location: Ecce Art Gallery at 216 Broadway in Fargo

Wolftree is a humble quarterly publication out of Fargo, North Dakota that aspires to encourage and share the stories of sincere makers, dreamers, and adventurers of the Midwest. Along with other individuals and stories, Volume 2 will feature musician Jesse Magstead, from The Earth and Everything In it; painter Jessica Hulton; married-duo Shane and Bree Reetz; poet Randi Olsen; jeweler Emily Brooks of Taea Made; and Daniel Stenberg, who has a documentary coming out on Prairie Public in October. Molly Yeh, a Brooklyn-based food writer and chef who is relocating to a farm in North Dakota, will cater the event. Live music will be provided by local acoustic duo, Buffalo Buffalo.

NPBGS Herb Harvest Workshop:

Location: Northern Plains Botanic Garden Greenhouse at 1201 28th Ave N in Fargo

Date: August 24

Time: 9:00 – 11:00am

Participants will learn to harvest and have fun preserving and taste testing herbs! We will explore methods for drying and freezing herbs as well as make herb vinegar, pesto and herb butter that each participant will take home. All supplies are included. Workshop is limited to 15 participants per session.

Bacon Battle:

Location: Downtown Fargo at 505 Second Ave

Cost: $15 covers admission and one food ticket. $5 for additional food tickets.

Calling all carnivores, introducing Bacon Battle! Six restaurants step into the ring, each wielding their own delicious, bacon themed dish, with you as the judge. That’s right, for one day you will get to sample 6 different bacon dishes and decide which restaurant will receive the Bacon Battle Champion award! Join in for beer pairings plus an opportunity to meet other meat lovers and explore the neighborhood. There’s no better way to get out and have some bacon!

Shop at the 160 juried arts and original craft booths for that special “treasure” that you can’t find anywhere else. Take a look at such items as handmade baskets, pottery, handmade candles, original photos of rural North Dakota, decorative wood items, clothing and much more! There will also be barrel train rides and horse drawn carriage rides throughout the day! There will be live entertainment featuring some of the area’s best performers.

Streets Alive:

A physical activity festival where walkers, bikers and any form of human-powered movement brings downtown Fargo-Moorhead alive.
