Michael Goodwin Hired as Assistant Principal at Moorhead High School
Moorhead Area Public Schools is pleased to announce Michael Goodwin as a new Assistant Principal at Moorhead High School.
Michael brings a unique blend of military, instructional, and leadership experience to his new role. A retired United States Air Force veteran with 20 years of honorable service, Michael found his calling in education while serving as an instructor at the Noncommissioned Officer Academy. Following his military retirement, his path eventually led to secondary education, where he taught and coached for six years before transitioning into school administration.
“Michael’s diverse background and commitment to student success make him a tremendous addition to our leadership team,” said Dr. Jeremy Larson, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. “His service-driven mindset and passion for education align well with our mission of supporting every learner.”
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Ashford University, a master’s degree in the art of teaching from William Carey University, and an educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.
When asked what excites him about joining Moorhead High School, Michael said, “I’m honored to serve as a conduit to the vast opportunities MHS provides to pave every student’s pathway to success.”
Originally from Mississippi, Michael was drawn to Moorhead’s growth, close-knit community feel and—believe it or not—the weather. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, working out, swimming, flying, hunting and spending quality time with family and friends.
Moorhead High School and the entire district are proud to welcome Michael Goodwin to the Spud community.
