No Cleanup Week, No Problem

Cleanup Week has been cancelled this year in Moorhead. This decision is based upon COVID-19 concerns and safety guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health. The Safety of Moorhead’s workforce and continuity of service were guiding factors in this decision. Staffing for cleanup week requires contracting approximately 20 day laborers each day. These individuals work in close quarters with city staff. City staff work with changing crews all week. Should any of the contract laborers test positive for COVID-19, all staff who had contact with those individuals would be exposed and need to quarantine. This poses an unacceptable risk to employees and would affect the ability of the city to provide services.

The City of Moorhead has a plan to take care of your cleanup needs and keep staff safe. Moorhead residents will have an opportunity to drop off furniture, household goods, excess garbage, and other large items at no cost Monday, September 14 – Friday, September 18, 2020 between the hours of 7 am – 6 pm each day at the City’s Solid Waste Transfer Station, 2727 Hwy 10 East.
