NOT the last word

I know everyone has an opinion on the Ferguson Missouri fiasco, but I’ll shed a little more light on it for some people. First of all, we all knew that there was going to be rioting… even the police, the National Guard, FBI and the citizens of Ferguson knew it. Why in the hell wasn’t it stopped? While our President was speaking on TV about injustice and spouting about changing the justice system… the split screen on TV was showing Ferguson burning.

There would have probably been property destruction if Officer Darren Wilson would have been found indicted for 1st degree murder and hung on the court house steps. After all, what does justice and trials have to with stealing liquor, burning businesses, looting TV’s and drugs from local stores?

The Grand Jury was made up of local citizens with a lot of pressure on them, especially IF they didn’t indict the officer, but they did what they felt was right after seeing and hearing ALL the evidence. They felt that in the officer’s mind there was a threat of life or limb. Michael Brown was 6’4” and weighed 279 lbs… you don’t think officer Wilson feared for life or limb?

The Grand Jury made their decision. That’s the way the justice system works. Based on facts (not racism) the jury felt there was not enough probable cause to indict Officer Wilson.

How can we win any wars in other countries, when we can’t even stop a small band of looting thugs from tearing a town apart? Does it take a lot of strategic planning to announce the Grand Jury’s verdict at 8:00 A.M. while most of the wild people are sleeping it off? It would have even been easier to take pictures, locate bad guys and identify suspects in the daytime.

I believe they didn’t really want to bring in the National Guard for two reasons; one, we don’t take lightly to using Federal troops on citizens and the White House certainly didn’t want to face the possibility of a guardsman shooting a black looter and have another ”racist” shooting.

When OJ Simpson was found innocent, did ya see people screaming in the streets, protesting and turning over police cars? No, and race was certainly a part of the OJ trial.

No one was killed or seriously hurt? Well, there should have been some looters and terrorists hurt, instead, Michael Brown is dead, the family is heartbroken, officer Wilson will never be cop again, his career is done and he is a marked man and will be hiding the rest of his life. Many people, black and white lost their business and jobs… and worst of all, a more racially divided country once again.
