Sharing Gratitude

Fargo Memorial Honor Guard

I want to start by sharing my gratitude to the continuous community support for the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard. We have come so far as a grassroots local Veterans organization. We started from scratch buying our own uniform to conduct our sacred duty of military honors and salutes at the national cemetery into a full-on organization involved in our community. From flag presentations to parades, to fundraising for others we have had such great support and backing, THANK YOU!
This years Giving Hearts day was a tremendous success for the FMHG, we received over $95,000 from members of our community. It truly humbles me to have such people putting their money down for us and our vision.
As many are aware we are working diligently with Senator John Hoeven to create a special experience at the Fargo National Cemetery. As this is the Arlington National Cemetery of North Dakota we are always striving for improvement for the Veterans and their families. Despite the underhanded efforts of some, we will prevail in this venture. There will be much more info about these people in the near future and it will disgust you. For some reason (read political motivation) there are those who have been working against this project and they will be exposed for the type of person they really are and should not hold any type of public office.
On a more positive note, the Amets Post #7 (Fargo) hosted their annual fishing derby on Lee lake. Turnout was down from last year but it was still a success. Around 100 kids were registered and almost 80 adults. Lots of prizes were awarded. And the weather was great.
It is hard to believe that it is Mid-February, and we have this mild weather. For the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard it is a nice break from years past. We are a year-round organization that covers burial in all conditions and weather. We are still seeking volunteers for our organization; all training and uniforms are supplied. If you are willing to be part of a great group of Americans please contact us, on Facebook and our website. FMHG.org or a basic google search you can find us.
