Veterans encouraged to join Fargo Memorial Honor Guard

Veteran’s Corner

Fargo Memorial Honor Guard

Hello everyone,
It certainly appears spring has sprung on us. I’m thrilled that we are finally getting some rain. It will green and clean everything up nicely.
Another sure sign of spring is the number of burials conducted at the Fargo National cemetery. Last Friday the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard conducted four ceremonies. We fully expect our tempo to pick up as the weather gets warmer. It will not be uncommon to have five services in one day. We are still without a building but god willing we will break ground by this fall. So much time and effort has been put in so far. Now we are waiting for the VA to commit on a building design.
There has been much happening in the redesign phase, we started at around 10k square ft and the VA wants 4k sq ft. We are hoping to meet in the middle somewhere. We have made cuts and trimmed dimensions. Hopefully I will have more to report next week or the week after as we are planning a meeting.
Lastly I would encourage you Veterans that are reading this to join the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard. We supply uniforms and training. Once you attend one ceremony you will be changed. I cannot think of a better way to give back. If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please consider this invitation. Our requirements are an honorable discharge and membership in any service organization. Follow us on Facebook – Fargo Memorial Honor Guard or on our website FMHG.org

Thank You
Jason
