America’s Largest Display Dedicated to the Vietnam War!

The Fargo Air Museum partnered with Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 941 is hosting Vietnam Memorial Week April 29 through May 5. 

Saturday, April 29 kicks off the week with an opening ceremony at 9:30am. Sunday, April 30 ceremony begins at 12pm. 

The opening ceremony consists of keynote speaker, Glenn Thoreson, F-4 flight surgeon Vietnam veteran; missing man ceremony; 21 gun salute; the presentation of colors and more. Sunday, April 30 ceremony consists of keynote speaker, Maynard Kaderlik, Vietnam veteran knowledgeable on Agent Orange and the PACT Act and more. The Vietnam Memorial Wall, various aircraft, and military vehicles are on display all week.

The week is free will donation with no registration. 

They have all of this going on plus I’ve heard some rumors of other things that might happen. 

The veterans that started serving in the 80’s owe the Vietnam Veterans. Many of them had leadership roles in the military then. Fighting in such an unpopular and unconventional war tempered those that fought in it. This led to a high standard of “warrior ethos”. This translated into the most effective fighting force we ever had. Once troops are committed to fight, leaders must commit to end it fast. Our Vietnam veteran military leaders understood this and they made the political parties on both sides understand. 

The warfare undertook in the Mideast since 9/11 lacked decision making and as importantly decision selling generals. 

So, please get out to the Air Museum at see what they have going on. Stop and chat with them.
