Outdoor enthusiasts can now rent cross country skis and snowshoes at MB Johnson Park on Saturdays and Sundays. The park, located at 3601 11th Street North in Moorhead, offers just over two miles of groomed trails and a large warming house.

A popular ski rental package includes cross county skis, boots and poles for $10 per person or $25 per family. “We get a lot of families with young kids,” said Moorhead Parks employee Hayden Emery of Moorhead. "That's mostly what I've been seeing." He added that experience is not necessary and that it doesn’t take long for even the youngest first-time skiers to learn.

The cost to rent snowshoe is $5 per person or $12 per family. Only cash and checks are accepted. Rentals are available from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and noon until 4:30 p.m. on Sundays through February 28.
