Saturday, February 4

Youth Pond Hockey Day: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Lindenwood Park at 1905 Roger Maris Dr. in Fargo. Watch your kids do what they love and enjoy a day of hockey played where it all started…outside. Each team has a 3-game guarantee in this jamboree structured day. Divisions are 10U, 8U, 6U (All divisions are coed). In between games check out our warming tent with food and beverages and cook a s’more on our outdoor fire pits.

Model Railroad Day: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join the Moorhead Public Library and the Red River Valley Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society to view their collections of model trains and learn about model railroads, railway history, and more. This event is offered free-of-charge and is open to the public.

Frostival Kickball Tournament: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. M.B. Johnson Park at 3601 Oakport St. N. in Moorhead. Bundle up and join Stonewall Sports Fargo for their first-time hosting kickball in the snow as part of 2023 Frostival. Registration is limited to just 80 players (8 teams of 10). All players will register as free agents. 

Frostival Sleigh Rides: 12:00 – 4:00 pm. M.B. Johnson Park at 3601 11th St. N. in Moorhead. Enjoy a sleigh ride through the beautiful and scenic M.B. Johnson Park, Saturdays, February 4 and 18, from noon to 4 pm. Check in and enjoy Frostival treats and refreshments in the small shelter. Reservations are advised and can be made by calling 218.299.5340. Tickets may be available on-site if space allows. Admission is $5/person (children 2 and under are free).

Frostival Winter Warm Up at The Rourke: 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum at 521 Main Ave. in Moorhead. Get cozy downtown. Fill up at our complimentary cocoa bar after browsing our handmade mug market, gather round the fire pits in the M. Dorian Clemedtson Memorial Sculpture Court, and shop for toasty mittens, hats, and scarves from local fiber artists. Help keep our neighbors warm, too, by dropping off winter weather accessories for our community hat and mitten drive. Free.

Concordia Orchestra Senior Honors Concert: 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Centrum, Knutson Campus Center at Concordia College. Free.

Concordia Opera Performance: 2:30 – 3:30 pm. Centrum, Knutson Campus Center at Concordia College. Free.

Sunday, February 5

ROURKEART4ALL: 1:00 – 5:00 pm. The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum at 521 Main Ave. in Moorhead. Free.

Chili, macaroni and cheese cook off: Georgetown Community Center 5 – 7 pm. Free will donations with people’s choice awards in both categories. Proceeds to benefit new playground equipment at Georgetown Park. Sponsored by Georgetown Community Affairs Committee, Oakmound 4-H and St John’s Catholic Church.

Monday, February 6

Moorhead Economic Development Authority Meeting: 11:45 am. Hjemkomst Center at 202 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead. 

History on Tap: 6:00 pm. Junkyard Brewing at 1416 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead. History On Tap is a collaboration between Junkyard Brewing Co. and the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County that aims to provide fun and entertaining presentations on prohibition and the culture of booze in this area. Free.

Tuesday, February 7

Frostival: Candlelight Trail Walk: 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Viking Ship Park at 202 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead. Take a scenic stroll around Viking Ship Park with a trip through Mary’s Tunnel. Check out telescopes and learn about constellations from the MSUM Planetarium and FM Astronomy Club around a fire. Play outdoor games, enjoy s’mores, hot dogs, and hot chocolate, and take advantage of free cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals. Free.

Peace Corps Speaker Series: 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. The Peace Corps is a service opportunity for motivated changemakers to immerse themselves in a community abroad, working side by side with local leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges of our generation. This presentation is offered free-of-charge, and all are welcome.

Wednesday, February 8

Ask-a-Techspert: 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Library staff guides participants through free program navigating like phones, kindles, tablets, and laptops while assisting with tech issues. Free.

Lego Club: 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join us for a weekly program to challenge kids’ creativity as they build amazing structures using LEGOs. This event is geared towards ages 5-10. Free.

Waiting for Outlander Book Club: 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join the Waiting for Outlander Book Club to discuss “The Lost Queen” by Signe Pike. This book club is sponsored by The Friends of the Moorhead Library and meets each month to discuss the works of Diana Gabaldon and books similar to the “Outlander” series. Free.
