In contrast to these times of labor shortages, Clay County Commission Chair Jenny Mongeau participated in the presentation of longevity awards to five individuals employed in Clay County’s Social Services Department.

As she presented Social Services Director Rhonda Porter her award for thirty years of service, Mongeau joked, “If I give you this award, it means you have to stay another thirty years.” She went on to credit Porter’s leadership in the department as demonstrated by the longevity awards presented to members of her staff at the meeting.

Also honored for their long-standing service within the Clay County Social Services Department, were:

·      Juan (Manuel) Baquera, Support Enforcement Aide, 20 years

·       Desira Matthys Olien, Chemical Dependency Unit, 20 years

·       Sheila Madson, Disability Services Division, 20 years

·       Shannon Swenson, Disability Services Division, 25 years

As part of the award presentations, the five employees were lauded for their dedication to the department, for their diligent work going above and beyond expectations and for the passion demonstrated as they serve their clients.
