Arrest for Impersonating a Police Officer

Early morning on February 7, several south Moorhead residents were awaken by a male ringing door bells and knocking on residence front doors. During each contact, the male advised homeowners of different explanations for being there; ranging from he was a Cass County deputy and needed to check on a disturbance to being with residential services and that there was a large storm outside. In the approximate half dozen calls to the police department about this male, it didn’t sound like he was ever deemed credible and was denied access. Several callers described the male as “confused or under the influence of something.”

The man was confronted by police as he continued to make contact with homeowners in the 8th Street and 23rd Avenue South area. IVAN RONALD LONECHILD JR (29 years old from North Fargo) was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Clay County Jail for an open Clay County misdemeanor warrant for DWI and additional charges of Impersonating a Police Officer, Providing False Name to a Police Officer, and Disorderly Conduct.
