Jenny Mongeau, Clay County Commission Chair, recognized long-term county employees for their services at their April 5th meeting and presented each one a plaque as a token of the county’s appreciation.

Wayne Leitheiser works in the Solid Waste Management Department and has served there for fifteen years.  He came to Clay County from eight years as a Becker County employee.  County Administrator Stephen Larson praised Leitheiser for his humor, his wealth of knowledge and his collaborative skills. Larson said, “He is committed to a positive and effective department.”

The Clay County Maintenance Department honored Matthew Sebestl for his twenty years of service to the department.  Sebastl maintains two floors of the Clay County Courthouse Building and is described as asset to the county employee pool.

Clay County Social Services Department honored twenty-year employee Catherine Andring and thirty-plus year employee Denise Steinke with grateful recognition for their services.

Andring works with the Financial Service Department as a member of their Family Service Team. She processes applications and conducts interviews with prospective clients. Her cheerful outlook, dedication and dependability were noted.

Steinke received praise for her proficiency in utilizing the department’s “very complicated” accounting system. In previous years, she worked as a temporary employee serving area migrant workers and in accounting for Social Services. She currently serves as a child support aide specializing in the income-withholding caseload.
