Ogre-sized Fun Coming to Moorhead

The hilarious fairy tale that never was – starring everyone’s favorite ogre – is coming to Horizon Middle School Feb 27-29 and March 1.

“Shrek the Musical” based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, features a fantastic score of catchy songs, big laughs and great dancing. The New York Times called it ‘True Happiness’ and The Daily Mirror said it’s ‘the most fun you’ll ever have.’

Horizon’s production features approximately 100 talented students – in both the cast and tech crew. Producer/Director Kelly Dubois-Gerchak is excited to bring the lessons from Shrek to audiences here.

“The show is a great show about acceptance – teaching us that it’s not what we look like on the outside that matters. It’s what’s on the inside that counts,” Dubois-Gerchak says. “ We need to embrace our inner ‘freak.’”

Joining Dubois-Gerchak on the artistic staff are Assistant Director/Vocal Director Susan Knorr, Vocal Director, Kathy Ferriera, Choreographers Caitlyn Harvey and Patrick Kasper and Pit Conductor and Rehearsal Pianist David Ferriera.

Tickets: Available at the door or online at www.moorheadschools.org/tix or phone (218) 284-2255. $10 for adults, $6 for students.
