The 3 Bees has a new home

The 3 Bees has a new home as of April 7 in a pop-up shop beside the food court in the Moorhead Center Mall. Moorhead native, owner and entrepreneur Barb Schramm started the boutique in 2015 in her home. “When I came back to Moorhead after living in Germany and New York, I couldn’t find the ‘lagenlook’ (layered-look) I liked, so started the boutique,” Schramm said. After participating in a vendor show at the Mall in March, she decided it was the right time to make the move from her basement.

Schramm describes her boutique as “European style women’s clothing at reasonable prices.” The shop is filled with a vibrant blend of tunics, tops, dresses, and pants, along with shoes and fun accessories. “I have a knack for putting things together,” Schramm confided, “so I love helping customers find the right jewelry or shoes to complete an outfit.” Her merchandising philosophy includes old-fashioned customer service, where it’s both personal and fun to help her customers discover what’s new that suits their individual style. During a recent visit, one customer was assured that Schramm would bring something back for her from her next market visit, since she knew what style the customer preferred. “I’m a people-person,” Schramm said, explaining her enjoyment in finding just the right styles or colors for her customers.

Schramm brings a continental flavor to her boutique, having lived and traveled in Germany and New York, first as a choral conductor, then singing opera for over 20 years. When she retired, she and her husband returned to Moorhead, and the concept of 3 Bees was created.

The 3 Bees boutique is open daily from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
